GUIDELINES FOR A PLEASANT SAFARI EXPERIENCE

A FEW POINTERS TO ENSURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE FUNDAMENTALS OF A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE, AND WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN ON SAFARI

FORGET TELEVISION DOCUMENTARIES

As amazing as they are, nature and wildlife documentaries take months, if not years to obtain the amazing footage we see. In the wild, animals have vast areas of wilderness to exist, and thus every day on safari is different, as the animals are not bound, and are free to be where they want to be. What one sees, is majorly your luck on the given day. And one can see literally anything anywhere.

BIG 5
The famous big 5, namely Lion, Cape buffalo, Leopard, Rhino and African elephant are known as the big 5 due to our hunting past, where these are the 5 most dangerous and formidable animals to hunt and confront on foot.
BIG 5 is on most peoples list for things to see on safari. A realistic approach on safari will ensure there is no disappointment, when you learn of the larger variety of animals, birds, flora, reptiles and so forth that can be enjoyed and encountered on a safari.
Everyone has their favourite, and PATIENCE is the key to enjoying everything one can see, and what the bushveld has to offer on the day. Respecting the animals freedom of movement is also key to appreciating the wilderness that they have to themselves.

INTERACT WITH YOUR GUIDE, ASK QUESTIONS, AND IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE BEAUTIFUL WILD SURROUNDINGS.

SPECIFIC INTERESTS
If you have any specific interests such as birding, reptiles, flora, or whatever it may be, be sure to let your guide know. Often it is difficult to tend to each individual interest when on a safari with many people, but your guide will certainly try their best to entertain all interests on the safari.

RESPECT FOR NATURE
Kruger National Park is an unspoiled wilderness, where management of the Park strives to keep it clean of litter of any sort. Whilst on safari, please remember to never discard of any waste in the field, including fruit cores or peels, as they are not natural within this environment. All and ANY WASTE/RUBBISH is to be kept inside the vehicle until one can discard of it in a dustbin.

THESE ARE WILD ANIMALS
When at sightings, it is vital to keep the NOISE LEVEL at a minimum, and preferably at normal talking level. As these are wild animals, we respect them in their natural state, and thus we do not support trying to distract them by any means just for a good photo, or view. No calling out, whistling or loud noises are allowed on safari.
